| Sautee Nacoochee Community Association The thriving Sautee Nacoochee Community Association campus, located in a beautiful valley nestled in the mountains of northeast Georgia, faced numerous challenges related to its ongoing programs and the impending gift of a Folk Pottery Museum showcasing the region's extensive pottery heritage. The SNCA mission to celebrate and preserve the area’s heritage dictated that the pottery, art, music, theater, history and recreational programs all share the grounds as seamlessly as possible while preserving the site’s natural beauty and pedestrian orientation. A visual and physical community “heart” was established through arrangement of future buildings, relocation of the gymnasium along a “Grand Lawn” and a network of pedestrian paths. Non-centralized peripheral parking reinforced the community “heart” concept. |
