Harbour Island Master Plan
Harbour Island was originally a waste island in Tampa Bay consisting primarily of dredged material. At the time of this Master Plan existing development covered approximately 10% of the island including a hotel, small convention center, shopping center, mid rise office building, condominiums and tennis club.
The new Master Plan organizes future mixed-use development into a grid of squares and parks with connecting pedestrian ways and vehicular circulation in a system modeled after the original plan of Savannah, Georgia. Future development includes: 1.5 million square feet of office space, a new public aquarium, mid rise apartments, condominiums, lots for development of individual homes, retail areas, two marinas.
